Detailed
A POS machine silicone case is a compression-molded silicone cover fitted to a specific payment terminal body. It protects the housing, screen edges and connector openings while keeping the keypad, card slot and printer outlet reachable, so the terminal keeps working the way it was designed to.
This cover is molded for the PAX A920 and A920 PRO handheld terminals. It measures 18.4 × 8.4 × 4.1 cm and weighs 108 g. The mold line sits flush with the body, and the wall thickness is set so the case absorbs the contact that a counter-top or a dropped terminal produces.

The case is molded as one part, so the features below are geometry rather than assembly: no glued layers, no separate bezel, no trim left to hand-cut after molding.
Customization runs in three directions: the fit, the appearance, and the packaging.
Send the terminal model you use. The case is molded to it, so cut-outs for the keypad, card slot, printer outlet and charging port line up rather than being trimmed by hand.
Your logo can be screened, embossed or debossed on the back or side wall. Colors are matched to your brand or store identity, and multiple colors can be molded into one part.
Carton is the standard. If the cases ship to your own customers or to branch staff, the packaging can be tailored so the unboxing matches the brand.
Silicone is derived from silica, and it holds up where a soft PVC or a low-grade TPE cover would harden, crack or discolor. For a terminal that is handled all day, wiped with disinfectant and left in sunlight, that difference shows up within the first year.
Certificates can be supplied with the quotation.
There is no single best material for every deployment. The choice depends on where the terminal lives and what it has to survive.
| Property | Silicone | TPU | ABS hard shell |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shock absorption | High — the wall absorbs and recovers | Moderate — stiffer, transfers more force | Low — protection comes from rigidity |
| Surface grip | High, even when wet | Moderate, degrades when oily | Low, slippery |
| Heat resistance | Wide range | Narrower than silicone | Can soften under heat |
| Color and logo options | Multi-color molding, screen printing, embossing, backlight | Limited color range | Printed or painted only |
| Feel in hand | Soft, non-slip | Firm, plastic-like | Hard |
| Typical use | Handheld terminals in retail, logistics, hospitality | Consumer electronics cases | Rugged industrial housings |
Where a deployment needs both drop protection and a fixed rigid mounting, the usual answer is a silicone case on the terminal and a separate rigid base — not one part trying to do both.
Being clear about the limits saves a tooling cycle. A custom silicone case is a good fit when:
It is not the right answer when:
If any of those describe the project, tell us the actual conditions and we will say so rather than quote a case that will not solve the problem.
Logo placement is decided from the terminal model and the case geometry, so the print lands on a surface that stays visible once the terminal is in its stand. Screen printing is the standard method and holds its edge through normal handling and cleaning. Embossed or debossed logos give a tactile, molded-in look that cannot wear off, and a backlight effect can be added where the brand mark should read in low light.
Send the artwork file with the terminal model and we will confirm which surface each option suits best.
The A920 and A920 PRO share a body platform, so one mold covers both. If you deploy other PAX models alongside them, send the model list and we will confirm which need a separate mold.
Yes. Screen printing, embossed and debossed logos are all available, and the silicone color is matched to your brand. Multi-color molding is possible when the design needs more than one shade in the same part.
No. The cut-outs are molded into the part for the specific terminal model, which is the main reason to use a model-specific case instead of a generic sleeve.
It depends on the mold and the color configuration. Send the terminal model and expected annual quantity and we will give you the tooling and unit cost together.
Tell us which PAX model you deploy, the quantity you expect, and whether the case needs your logo. We will come back with the tooling position, unit price and lead time.
